At the forefront of Mariela’s work ethic is her passion to help others. With a can-do attitude, Mariela is eager to take on any challenges or tasks that she may face. More importantly,Mariela believes in cultivating and showcasing work that reflects her drive to serve people and their health needs.

Mariela has had experience interning at federal agencies, such as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and the U.S. Census Bureau. She has also conducted cross-cultural research in the southern border-town region she grew up in. These experiences have allowed Mariela to gain critical knowledge on the overarching systems that affect health outcomes as a whole. She has also had countless experiences of working on different teams to achieve a common goal. These experiences have inspired her to continue working on projects where she can improve health outcomes for minority populations

Mariela is currently a Master of Public Health Candidate at Brown University School of Public Health. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University.
